What We Do
Founded in 2014, INSIGHT maintains a central repository which provides researchers access to a Limited Data Set containing approximately 23 million electronic health records, allowing them to conduct rigorous scientific investigation using real-world data.
Since its inception, INSIGHT has built long-standing relationships with a wide range of data users and partners including other CRNs, clinicians, informaticists, health system leaders, government agencies, community stakeholders, payers, and industry.
INSIGHT aims to deliver research-ready datasets to advance population health and patient-engaged research.
To achieve these goals INSIGHT focuses on five key elements:
- establishing strong privacy and security policies and procedures to foster public trust,
- maintaining a large comprehensive limited research dataset,
- fostering robust patient and community engagement throughout INSIGHT initiatives,
- embedding research into healthcare delivery and implementing research into practice, and
- maintaining a high-functioning, sustainable infrastructure.
